Designing Accessible SaaS Tools for the Gaming Industry
Designing Accessible SaaS Tools for the Gaming Industry
Working closely with designers, engineers, and stakeholders, I developed a centralized Figma library with over 2,700 reusable components, ensuring full WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 compliance. The result was a 40% boost in agent task efficiency, a 30% reduction in design-to-development time, and a future-proof system that streamlined workflows and eliminated redundant design work across four internal teams.
Situation
The Nevada Gaming Control Board relied on outdated software to manage casino licensing and compliance reporting. The existing system was difficult to use, lacked modern accessibility standards, and created delays for both regulators and industry operators.
Obstacle

Cumbersome workflows required excessive manual data entry and review.
Poor accessibility limited usability for employees and industry stakeholders with assistive technologies.
Inconsistent design made training and onboarding difficult, reducing efficiency.
High error rates due to outdated UI patterns and unclear workflows.
Action

As Senior UX Designer, I:
Partnered with regulators and industry operators to map workflows and pain points through interviews and research.
Designed accessible, user-friendly SaaS interfaces to streamline licensing and compliance reporting.
Applied WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 standards to ensure regulatory compliance and inclusivity.
Developed interactive prototypes to validate design decisions with stakeholders before development.
Established design documentation and UI patterns for long-term product scalability.
Result

30% faster license processing times for operators and regulators.
Improved compliance accuracy, reducing reporting errors.
Accessible system that supported a wider range of users, including those with disabilities.
Set the foundation for a modern, scalable SaaS platform for future gaming compliance needs.
